Last week my husband gave me a dozen long stem light green roses...just because - I always love that! I've enjoyed them for one week in a tall glass vase and today I thought it would be fun to arrange them in an urn. Since the urn doesn't hold water, I put a flower frog in a small bowl, filled it with water, and placed the cut roses into the spokes of the frog. The bowl fit perfectly into the top of the urn. It was so easy and I thought it turned out pretty nice...
Over the years I have collected various styles of flower frogs but have never actually used them for their original purpose. I've used them to hold pictures, postcards, and pencils..but never flowers...they work quite well!
I too have collected vintage frogs forever and have never used them for their intended purpose either. Love the roses, your honey did good!!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!! Lovely lovely pics, and your arrangement looks so beautiful. Great use of frogs. ;)
ReplyDeleteThose are stunning - I don't have any of the spiky flower frogs but I keep my eye open for them. I'm a bit cheap though so I'm always looking for a good deal! ;-)
ReplyDeleteOoo beautiful roses, I love roses, don't get them very often ( hubby not a flower guy). Mine tends to buy me things I want for the house or a doll for my collection.
ReplyDeleteI have a bunch of old flower frogs too and now that they are popular I am glad I have hung onto them.
