Beachy Keen
A few weeks ago I made this beachy border out of bits of scrap wood that I had collected over the years...I still can't believe that it perfectly fit our little garden shed... quickly turning it into a beach shack ...
At a local flea market I found this great roll of vintage 1950's shell wallpaper...love the colors. I will be selling pieces of it at the store.
I am always on the hunt for vintage black and white beach photos...
For a fun look paint some of your shells in soft pastel colors and lightly sprinkle with glitter.
Breezy blouse and soft pink lace scarf from our boutique...
I must me in the mood for a beach trip...
Just let me grab my hat!

Stamping Sunshine
Lately I've been seeing a ~You are my Sunshine~ wall art around and thought it would be fun to recreate one for a summer window display at the store.
A few years ago I bought this vintage stamp set and am always looking for ways to use it.
I tested them out...
Found a large piece of cardboard and stamped away...
It's not perfect by any means and took longer than I thought... but it will be a great display piece!

Apparently, One More...
A customer brought a purse to the counter and told us that when her husband asked her how many purses she needed she said, "Apparently, one more!"
As a collector and girl who loves to shop I thought this was the perfect response and plan on using it.
How many vintage hand mirrors does a girl need?
How many new purses can you have?
How many cocktail rings will your jewelry box hold?
How many vintage alarm clocks are you going to collect?
How many shoes with flowers can fit in your closet?
Apparently, one more...

Dads and Grads and Kangaroos...
This is one of my favorite pictures of my dad and nephew Mitchell taken at my wedding 12 years ago.
Happy Father's Day Dad!
I get my quick wit,sense of humor and "play on words" from my dad which comes in handy when blogging...
Mitchell graduated from high school this year and will be attending Gonzaga University this fall...I'm so proud of him!
~~~~~~
One of the joys of Joyworks is you never know who or what will come visit us. Yesterday Teresa from The Funny Farm, an exotic animal sanctuary in Monroe,brought
in a baby kangaroo.
Her name is Amazing Grace...She's so sweet!
Shelly was beyond thrilled because she got to Roo-sit!
They also have camels at the farm...I'm hoping one will make the trip to come visit us at Christmas time...
Denim Flowers...
The other day I was cleaning out my closet and discovered that I had quite a few pairs of jeans...
Instead of donating them all to the local thrift shop I thought it would be fun to make denim flower pins.
After making the first few cuts I realized that I had grabbed my good jeans...
just kidding... :)
A great way to embellish a basic top...
jazz up a denim coat...
and love it with a cardigan and pearls...
