I've been busy gathering up all the hearts and creating some new displays.

After a Great Holiday Season and busy After Christmas Sale the store is looking a little messy...:)
I don't love cleaning but I do LOVE creating new displays!

Sweater Snowman

Today as I was wearing my cream sweater dress it reminded me of a snowman we made out of sweaters a few years ago...all I needed was a top hat and a scarf...:)
He was so cute!

Downtown Seattle

Every year I love to venture downtown to see all the Christmas windows and displays.

Hark...the Herald

Today Joyworks was featured in the Everett Herald.
I was showing the photographer all of our beautiful trees and holiday decorations and they chose a picture of me to make the paper...too funny...:)

We were very thankful to be picked to be featured in the paper.

Joyworks

Those words describe Joyworks in downtown Snohomish.

The store is expansive, its offerings unique and diverse.

"A lot of people often comment about how we keep our gifts affordable," said Joyworks owner Clarice Johnson.
That could be Joyworks' recipe for success; the shop has been in business for 32 years.

This time of year, many customers come into Joyworks to buy Christmas ornaments.

The store has dozens of Christmas trees throughout the rooms and basement that make up Joyworks. Many of the trees feature ornaments of the same theme. In the room of baby and children's gifts, you'll find ornaments to mark a child's first Christmas as well as a tree laden with cupcake-shaped decorations.

Downstairs, there are gifts and ornaments for gardeners, bird-lovers, fishermen, wine-drinkers and adventurers. Got a baseball fan on your list? Joyworks has you covered. Ornaments are priced as low as $3.95. Most are well under $20.

"A lot of people come here to buy ornaments," Johnson said. "They give an ornament every year to children or grandchildren."

But Joyworks isn't just an ornament store. There's plenty of home decor, jewelry and hand bags to peruse.

In the past year, Johnson's daughters have been responsible for expanding Joyworks' clothing assortment, which includes ladies' dresses, sweaters and skirts. The shop also carries an array of cold-weather accessories. Like the rest of the items in the shop, these tend to have a vintage flair -- with layered fur scarves, flower embellishments on caps and soft, lacy patterned fingerless gloves.

"We try to keep it fun," Johnson said.

Blue Jars and Bulbs

This year I having been loving decorating with blue mason jars. When we decorated the beach house for Christmas we used around 40 jars in various sizes. We filled the bottoms with rock salt and candles and lined them up in all the window sills.

At home I started my paperwhite bulbs in a large jar...while I'm waiting for them to bloom I placed a few artifial blooms in the mix...:)

I'm also enjoying my blooming paperwhites that I recieved from Luanne for a hostess gift.

I have a weakness for vintage painted stools and chairs...

It's all in the Details

We had so much fun crafting for the beach house this Christmas Season.
We made driftwood trees,sand dollar and shell ornaments,many items using sheet music,wreaths,beach glass star and ornaments,pillows,banners,party favors,etc...
