Today at this photo shoot Jana will be modeling a new dress from Joyworks Boutique.

Dean tried his best to get Jana to show some movement and to relax...act natural...

Jana is not in the running to be the next top model and is packing her bags and heading home. We feel that she is not ready to be a model and needs to stick to her day job.
Later that day Jana said she was happy for the experience to work with such a great photographer and that she was thrilled she was able to keep the cute dress...:)

The Royal Couple

This week everybody will be talking about the upcoming wedding of William and Kate.
At Joyworks we are not carrying any memorabilia but we do have a little wedding section.




Oh...speaking of weddings...It is our Anniversary today!

The only thing Royal about our beautiful wedding was the icing on the cake... :)

Easter Hat

Last weekend I bought this vintage pink hat at an Estate Sale.
I plan on wearing it to Joyworks tomorrow with my pretty floral blouse.
The Snohomish Easter Parade route is on First Street right in front of the store and it's always fun to dress up a little for the event.

On Easter Sunday how cute would my fancy pink hat look as a center piece...

Every year we create a new and different mannequin...
This year we used this image as our inspiration...so cute!

Rita and Sandi worked their magic and designed this beautiful dress out of a vintage slip,tulle,tissue paper flowers,roses,ribbon,nests,and ivy.

She will be the star of our booth at the Snohomish Antique and Arts Faire which takes place on First Street on April 21st.

A cute mannequin that Rita designed for the store using pages from a vintage pattern book that I bought a few years ago.

These pages also make great wall art.

I don't sew but I love all things sewing related...like vintage spools of thread,buttons,patterns,lace,ribbon,fabric,measuring tapes,pin cushions,etc...


and...I do like things that are sewn...

Yesterday I purchased this cute little suitcase at an Estate Sale.
I thought it might be fun to keep just in case...
I need to spell something...or

In case I need a new home for my bracelets and necklaces...or

In case I need to keep my my crystals and glass knobs safe...or

In case I need a place for my vintage millinery flowers...or

In case I need to keep my lace and buttons handy...or

Just to use for displaying found objects like shells...

I think I'll keep it just in case...in seems to suit me!
