Life's a Hoot!

Homestead

   

Built in 1869 in Snohomish for

John Harvey and family.

This is one of the first homes built in Snohomish...and it's still standing.

Location -Harvey Field-Snohomish, Wa.

 

On the Final Homestead Proof document, it states that before June of 1869, Mr. Harvey made settlement on said land and built a two-story house of lumber, about 35 feet square with a shingle roof, tongue and groove dressed floor, 2 doors, and “12 or 14” (as stated in the document) windows. A wood stove heated the house. The document states that it was a “well furnished and a comfortable house to live in.”

Beach Barn

I was telling my mother how pretty the flowers looked by the barn at the beach and she asked me if I had noticed the large sunflower..
I had to go out and take a look and noticed that the sunflower was being very shy and facing away...

I'm glad I took a second look!What a happy flower to see on this sunny day!

Orange Crush!

In the bottom of a box of clothing that was delivered today was this super cute vintage inspired orange coat....It was love at first sight!

Years ago I bought this vintage Garden Show poster at an estate sale। Every year at this time we bring it out to share...so cute!

We are loving these new letters made out of vintage books...what a great idea!

New Boat Owners...

Dean and I purchased kayaks a couple weeks ago and this weekend we took them out for their maiden voyage.

It was so nice to launch them right in front of the beach house and set out for our great adventure.

We had so much fun exploring the beautiful coastline!

I kept thinking that I need to find a waterproof kayak purse to hold my camera,phone, and lip gloss... :)

I hate that the summer is almost over...tomorrow I will be setting up Halloween at Joyworks...
