My husband found these great vintage lanterns at a garage sale for me a few years ago. I love to decorate with them in the summer--They're so festive!

Soap Box
At Joyworks we carry a large variety of Pre'de Provence soaps. These soaps are triple milled in Provence using the old-world methods. They're enriched with natural shea butter to cleanse and soften, and infused with pure essential oils to add delicate aroma. We carry the 25g for $1.25 and the 250g for $5.99. I will get on my soap box and say that this soap is the best! It smells great and lasts forever...and my husband likes it too...

Shopgirl goes Shopping
Today I went to a boutique show looking at Kensie for holiday delivery. The show was at the Alexis Hotel in downtown Seattle. When I first entered the room it was like walking into a large walk-in closet full of very cute clothes! The racks were filled with beautiful dresses, blouses, and coats... I loved them all!! It is going to be very tough picking which ones to buy.
At Joyworks we are always shopping for the best merchandise in fashion and home decor. It's a good thing we like to shop!

Talk about Colorful Living...
I found this vintage phone advertisement this weekend. I'm still so excited that I have my green phone but now I want one in every color. I love what the ad says--Modern homes have handy phones...where you work...where you play...where you sleep. You'll like the convenience, privacy, and security of extension telephones-night and day. Answer with ease, wherever you please.
How far we've come with our cell phones and text messaging. Will we collect cell phones in 20 years and get really excited if we find a pink one with rhinestones??

A Good Find
For the last few months I've been on the look out for a vintage water globe flower vase. This weekend I finally found one for $1.00...A good find! When I got home I quickly filled it with a flower and water--it's original purpose. It looked nice but I was soon bored and dumped out the water and decided to fill it with mother of pearl buttons- very fun. I can't wait to see what else looks cute...
It be great if I could find a reproduction and sell them at Joyworks.

Happy Father's Day
Estate Sale
This morning I spotted this Estate Sale sign--I parked immediatley and glanced through the garden gate in hope of great treasures! Sundays can be half off days so I kept my fingers crossed--it was...Yea!!
The old house was still very full-they must have had a lot of stuff... I looked through every room carefully and these are some of the goodies that I found.
At Joyworks we love to mix the old with the new--especially benches, stools, and chairs... It was quite a challenge to get the orange rocker down from the upstairs
bedroom...but it will be so cute in the store!

Bingo!
Today I went to the Sand Point Antique & Design Market. It was great fun and always a good place to go to get vintage items and display ideas. Their show is part design, part therapy and ...pure pleasure.
Today the only thing I bought was this vintage Bingo game...I've always wanted one-I love the spinner with the green handle.

Friends
Everyone Needs Someone
People need people and friends need friends
And we all need love for a full life depends
Not on vast riches or great acclaim,
Not on success or on worldly fame,
But just in knowing that someone cares
And holds us close in their thoughts and prayers-
For only the knowledge that we're understood
Makes everyday living feel wonderfully good,
And we rob ourselves of life's greatest need
When we "lock up our hearts" and fail to heed
The outstretched hand reaching to find
A kindred spirit whose heart and mind
Are lonely and longing to somehow share
Our joys and sorrows and to make us aware
That life's completeness and richness depends
On the things we share with our loved ones and friends.
