Shiny Brite Makeover

I love all the colors of Shiny Brites but in my house I tend to use mostly silver.

Today I bought two boxes of ornaments and simply rinsed some of the blue and red ones in hot water and the color comes right off leaving a vintage mercury silver look. If a little water gets inside the ball don't worry... it just takes off a little of the silver and creates an aged look.

So pretty...

Have a great Thanksgiving.

Hey! Great tip! Thanks....I have TONS of old Shiny Brites in various colors, but I only use the green, white and silver to decorate with. I've just been saving all the colorful ones in case I love color one day!

I love it, kindred spirit! I was preparing a post for the next week or so about Shiny Brites - I just bought a lot of them from ebay - adding to my collection from the past 2 years.

I can't wait to receive my new ones, and pull the 'older' ones out of the Christmas storage box!

Love the tip about the water aging the insides!!

Great blog ~
