Just Because...

Last week my husband gave me a dozen long stem light green roses...just because - I always love that! I've enjoyed them for one week in a tall glass vase and today I thought it would be fun to arrange them in an urn. Since the urn doesn't hold water, I put a flower frog in a small bowl, filled it with water, and placed the cut roses into the spokes of the frog. The bowl fit perfectly into the top of the urn. It was so easy and I thought it turned out pretty nice...

Over the years I have collected various styles of flower frogs but have never actually used them for their original purpose. I've used them to hold pictures, postcards, and pencils..but never flowers...they work quite well!

Those are stunning - I don't have any of the spiky flower frogs but I keep my eye open for them. I'm a bit cheap though so I'm always looking for a good deal! ;-)

Ooo beautiful roses, I love roses, don't get them very often ( hubby not a flower guy). Mine tends to buy me things I want for the house or a doll for my collection.
I have a bunch of old flower frogs too and now that they are popular I am glad I have hung onto them.
